Lois Kohmetscher

Hastings resident, Lois Rose Kohmetscher, 81, passed away Thursday, December 15, 2011 at Perkins Pavilion Good Samaritan Society-Hastings Village, Hastings, Nebraska.

Rosary will be Sunday, December 18, 2011; 7:30 P.M. at St. Michael's Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, December 19, 2011; 10:30 A.M. at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Hastings, Nebraska. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Lawrence, Nebraska. Visitation will be Saturday, December 17, 2011; 5:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M., Sunday, December 18, 2011; 1:00 P.M. - 5:00 P.M. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be given to family's choice.

Lois was born July 24, 1930 in Nuckolls County, Nebraska to George A. & Frances (Karmazin) Drudik. She graduated from Lawrence High School, Lawrence, Nebraska. Lois married William Kohmetscher on April 15, 1952 in Lawrence, Nebraska; he preceded her in death on October 19, 2009. Lois and William moved from Lawrence to Hastings in 1989; she was a homemaker, telephone operator, clerk for McCauleys, and was a co-owner of Hamburger Paper Co. all in Lawrence. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Altar Society, NARFE, and was a past member of Catholic Daughters. She enjoyed country music, trips to Branson, Missouri, and square dancing.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Kohmetscher; infant twin brothers; infant sister; sister, LaVeta Hofstetter; granddaughter, Nicole Lynn Kohmetscher; great-granddaughters, Lillian Grace Kohmetscher and Parker Isabelle Tolen; and great-grandson, Avery Daniel Lorraine.
