Lois Johnson

Hastings resident, Lois M. (Engel Beahm) Johnson, 80, passed away Friday, May 11, 2012 at Mary Lanning Memorial HealthCare, Hastings, Nebraska.

Graveside services and burial will be held Friday, May 25, 2012; 2:00 P.M. at Parkview Cemetery, Hastings with Pastor Joel Remmers officiating. Book signing will be Wednesday, May 23, 2012; 9:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M. and Thursday, May 24, 2012; 9:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the family c/o Bernard Engel.

Lois Johnson was born May 6, 1932 to Fred & Almuth (Flesner) Engel of Inland, Nebraska. She graduated from Hastings High School in 1949. She worked in the Hastings area until her marriage to Harold V. Beahm on October 28, 1951. She was a full time mother of five sons, along with helping her husband with their drywall business. Her husband was killed in a car accident on April 17, 1963. On June 4, 1966 Lois married Melvin J. Johnson. He had one son, and together they had a daughter. From 1978 to 1992, she worked at the Hastings Regional Center in Admissions/Medical Records and PBX operator. Melvin passed away on January 14, 1994. Lois was a member of First St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Harold V. Beahm and Melvin J. Johnson; brothers, Arnold Engel and Chester Engel; sister, Mildred Komrofske; and many loved ones.
