Lonnie Powell

Former Hastings resident, Lonnie L. Powell, 69. of Mt. Carmel Home Keens Memorial, Kearney, Nebraska, died Sunday, April 27, 2008 at Mt. Carmel Home.

Services will be Wednesday, April 30, 2008; 11:00 A.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel with Rev. Dr. Lee Wigert officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Memorials may be given to the family.

Mr. Powell was born March 4, 1939 in Fargo, North Dakota to Iryl V. & Dorothy L. (Carl) Powell. He moved to Hastings at the age of 4 and graduated from Hastings High School in 1957. He had attended Grace United Methodist Church. He was owner/operator of Powell Tower Maintenance Incorporated for 35 years. He married Sue Cameron and they had a son, Troy. They later divorced. He married Janet M. Kirby and they had a son Cory and they later divorced.

Mr. Powell was preceded in death by his father in 1978 and a sister, Connie Sue in 1970.
