The matron of the "Fox Clan" Loraine Fox was born August 3, 1918 in Grand Island, Nebraska to Jesse & Katherine (Harrahill) Scott. She grew up and graduated from Sacred Heart High School in Greeley, Nebraska. She worked for her father, County Judge Jesse Scott, for two years before going to Lincoln, Nebraska to attend business school. She worked in the Lincoln office of Roberts Dairy Company until 1942. She married Robert J. Fox on July 18, 1942 in Boulder City, Nevada and he preceded her in death on February 4, 1987. In 1950, they moved to Spalding, Nebraska where her St. Patrick's Day celebrations including green mash potatoes, green gravy and hours of dancing became legendary. In 1972, they moved to Hastings, Nebraska. She loved to read and friends would stop by her home at all times, knowing she not only would listen with love, but would find the perfect book in her extensive library to inspire them as they traveled down their next path in life. In 1999, she moved to St. Peters, Missouri, to live with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. & Mrs. Chris Mazour and their three children. Being a big part of her grandchildren's lives was life to Loraine. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Hastings, Nebraska and a member of the OLA Writing & Dream group. Her passions were traveling to visit family and friends, reading, sandhill cranes, trees, Irish music and meaningful moments with people. She will be missed deeply by all.
