Lorene Betz

Lorene M. Betz, 90, died Saturday, August 30, 2003, at her home.

Services were Tuesday, September 2, 2003; 1:30 P.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel with Rev. Earl Higgins officiating. Burial was in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska.

Lorene M. Betz was born June 29, 1913 in Blue Hill, Nebraska to Lee and Luella (Martin) James. She graduated from Blue Hill High School in 1930. She taught in Hilltop School, near Campbell, Nebraska. She married Reynold Betz on January 31, 1932 in Smith Center, Kansas and he preceded her in death on March 2, 1971. They lived in Red Cloud for a few years in the 1940's where she operated a produce buying station for Swift & Company. They moved to Campbell, Nebraska where they raised thousands of turkeys and operated a dairy farm for several years. They moved to Hastings, Nebraska in 1963, due to Mr. Betz's failing health. She was an office employee of Sears Roebuck and J.M. McDonalds. She was a former member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Campbell, Nebraska.

Lorene M. Betz was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Reynold and one son, Robert.
