Lorene Smith

Hastings resident, Lorene E. Smith, 88, passed away Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at her daughter's home in Clatonia, Nebraska.

Services will be Wednesday, November 27, 2013; 10:30 A.M. at Butler Volland Chapel, Hastings with Pastor Tony Dawson officiating. Burial will be in Minden Cemetery, Minden, Nebraska. Memorials may be given to the Susan G. Komen For The Cure Breast Cancer Foundation. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 26, 2013; 3:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M., and one hour prior to service at the funeral home.

Lorene was born June 17, 1925 in Billings, Montana. She graduated from high school at the Rosebud Reservation in Montana. Lorene married Charles E. Smith on January 27, 1945; he preceded her in death on June 30, 2013. She was a housewife and helped her husband as a custodian. Lorene was a member of Good Sams at Good Samaritan Village.

Lorene was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Smith; daughter, Charlene Aabel; son, Daniel Smith; brothers; sisters; and parents.
