Loretta M.Wendt

Former Inland resident, Loretta M. Wendt, 91, of 1100 N. 6th Avenue, College View, passed away Thursday, October 25, 2007 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital.

Services will be Saturday, October 27, 2007; 1:00 P.M. at Livingston-Butler-Volland Chapel with Rev. Barry Rempp officiating. Burial will be at 3:30 P.M. in Harvard Cemetery, Harvard, Nebraska. Visitation will be Saturday, October 27, 2007; 9 A.M. until service time. Memorial may be given to Loretta M. Wendt Memorial Fund.

Mrs. Wendt was born on January 19, 1916 in Inland, Nebraska to Harvey Gale & Linnie (McGuire) Van Arsdale. She attended school and graduated from high school at Inland District 72. On December 21, 1935, Loretta married Earl Edwin Wendt. He preceded her in death on February 7, 1988 and Loretta's only sister, Merle McLain, died May, 2001. Loretta was a life-long resident of Inland where she and Earl moved to her grandfather's farm. She lived there until moving to Good Samaritan Village Green in 2003 and then briefly to College View in 2007. She was a homemaker and a member of Harvard United Church of Christ, Ladies' Aid, and Inland Community Homemakers. Her special interests were first her family, the farm, the community of Inland, including the Inland School and the Inland Methodist Church where she was baptized. She loved yard work & gardening.

Mrs. Wendt was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Earl & a sister, Merle McLain.
