Loretta J. Petr, 83, of Wichita, Kansas, died Friday, December 22, 2000 at Via Christi/St. Francis Hospital, Wichita, Kansas.

Rosary will be Wednesday, December 27, 7:00 P.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, December 28, 10:00 A.M. at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church with Monsignor Ivan Vap, Father Christopher Kubat and Father Gerald Vap officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska.

Loretta J. Petr was born March 10, 1917 in Nebraska City, Nebraska to Henry A. & Julia K. (Solko) Schreiter. She worked at St. Mary's Hospital in Nebraska City, Nebraska. She married George Petr on October 19, 1949 in Nebraska City, Nebraska and he preceded her in death on December 19, 1999. They lived in Deweese, Nebraska until moving to Hastings, Nebraska in 1966. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Cecilia's Catholic Church, Altar Society, Catholic Workman, Crosier Apostolate, quilting club, South Central Nebraska Czech Society and a card club. She enjoyed gardening and was a volunteer at the Regional Center, Retired Seniors and Meals-On-Wheels.

Loretta J. Petr was preceded in death by her parents, husband, George and a brother, Robert Schreiter.
