Hastings resident, Lou L. Bogan, 86, passed away Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at Mary Lanning Memorial HealthCare, Hastings, Nebraska.

Rosary will be Sunday, January 23, 2011; 7:00 P.M. at Butler Volland Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, January 24, 2011; 10:00 A.M. at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church, Hastings with Father Joseph M. Walsh officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Visitation will be Friday, January 21, 2011; 5:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M., Saturday, January 22, 2011; 9:00 A.M. - 9:00 P.M., Sunday, January 23, 2011; 1:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M. with family present from 5:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home, and 1 hour prior to service at the church. Memorials may be given to the Lou Bogan Memorial Fund.

Lou was born August 19, 1924 to Herman J. & Sophia B. (Gellerman) Titkemeier on a farm south of Wilcox, Nebraska. She graduated from Wilcox High School in 1942 and attended Nebraska College of Commerce in Hastings, Nebraska for eight months. She worked for the U.S. Government for 15 years with the Ration Board, Naval Ammunition Depot, Department of Interior at Washington, VA Hospital in Lincoln, then moved back to Hastings to work at the Naval Ammunition Depot where she retired as military pay clerk in 1958. Following retirement, she worked for J.M. McDonald Headquarters and the school lunch program at St. Cecilia schools. On September 10, 1956 she married Dave Bogan and to this union was born 3 children: Mike, Kathy, and Dan. She was a member of St. Cecilia's Catholic Church and Altar Society. She was a member of the Elks Does, Drove 112. She belonged to the Elk's Ladies Golf Association where she was a past president, Southern Hills Ladies Golf Association where she was a past president, and Rio Mimbris Country Club Women's Association in Deming, New Mexico. Lou was an avid golfer in the Hastings community for over 50 years where in a past ladies city tournament she tied for second place. She was lucky enough in her lifetime to have had 2 holes in one, one of which happened when she was 83 years old. She and Dave have played well over 60 golf courses from the Canadian border to the Mexican border. They played in 2 courses in Jaurez, Mexico. For 20 years she and Dave traveled to Deming, New Mexico to spend their winters.

Lou was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Ordean Eckhardt; brother-in-law, Frank Eckhardt; and sister-in-law, Sylvia Titkemeier.
