Hastings resident, Louis Guy Brown, 92, passed away Sunday, September 18, 2016 at Good Samaritan Society-Hastings Village, Hastings, Nebraska.
Services will be Wednesday, September 21, 2016; 2:00 P.M. at Butler Volland Chapel, Hastings with Pastor Tom Murray officiating. Burial with military rites by the Hastings Veterans Organization will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Hastings. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 21, 2016; 9:00 A.M. - 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the family.
Louis was born October 27, 1923 in Edgar, Nebraska to Ernest & Josephine Brown. He was the 4th child of 8 children; 4 boys and 4 girls. He went to school in Edgar until he went to the Navy for 2 years during WWII. Louis married Jeanne Johnson on October 22, 1948 in Kansas; she preceded him in death on January 16, 2004.
Louis worked on the railroad in Geneva, at the Navy Ammunition Depot in Hastings, and the Cornhusker Plant in Grand Island. He also drove the library book mobile.
Louis was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brothers, Floyd and Robert; sisters, Gladys, Elsie, and Ernestine; and nieces and nephews, Wilbergene, Scott, James, Harlan, Jewel Lynne, Barbara, Elaine, and Gloria.
