Hastings resident, Louis E. Pratters, 75, passed away Sunday, August 18, 2013 at Perkins Pavilion Good Samaritan Society-Hastings Village, Hastings, Nebraska.
Services will be Friday, August 23, 2013; 11:00 A.M. at French Memorial Chapel-Hastings College, Hastings with Rev. Dr. Lee R. Wigert officiating. Burial with military rites by Offutt Air Force Base will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Darrell Lloyd Education Fund at Hastings College. Visitation will be Thursday, August 22, 2013; 1:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home, and one hour prior to service at the chapel.
Louis was born January 5, 1938 in Baltimore, Maryland to James & Mary (Butler) Pratters. He served with the U.S. Air Force for ten years. Louis taught English at Hastings High School for 25 years and was a faculty member at Hastings College for 19 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Hastings, Hastings Retired Teacher Association, Noon Kiwanis, Evening Kiwanis, Hastings Community Theater, V.F.W., American Legion, D.A.V., and Eagles. Louis enjoyed theater and reading "Dickens". He served on Board of Housing & Urban Development and was a generous contributor to many other organizations.
Louis was preceded in death by his parents.
