Louis J. 'Sonny' Vollweiler, 82, of 1323 Hewett, died Tuesday, September 18, 2001 at his home.

Memorial services will be Friday, September 21, 2001; 10:00 A.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel with William Morrow officiating. Interment with military rites will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska.

Louis J. 'Sonny' Vollweiler was born June 26, 1919 in Hastings, Nebraska to Louis J. & Lena (Sittner) Vollweiler, He graduated from Hastings High School in 1938 and served in the United States Army during WWII from February 13, 1941 til October 3, 1945. In November 1946, he married Helen Brotherton. He was owner/operator of Bak-Vol Starter & Generator Company for 39 years, retiring in 1987. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, 50 year member of Mid-West Lodge #317 A.F. & A.M., Scottish Rites, Tehema Shrine Temple, Elks and American Legion.
He was a life long Hastings resident.

Louis 'Sonny' Vollweiler was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.

Memorial maybe given to Shrine Transportation Fund
Butler-Volland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
