Lucille Oxley

Hastings resident, Lucille I. Oxley, 88, previously of 927 North Saunders Avenue died, Friday, July 23, 2010 at Perkins Pavilion Good Samaritan Society-Hastings Village, Hastings, Nebraska.

Rosary will be Monday, July 26, 2010; 7:30 P.M. at Butler Volland Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, July 27, 2010; 10:00 A.M. at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church, Hastings, Nebraska with Father Joseph M. Walsh officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Visitation will be Monday, July 26, 2010; 1 P.M. - 9 P.M. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Memorials may be given to the Alzheimer's Association.

Lucille was born February 17, 1922 in Oconto, Nebraska to Edward H. & Frances A. (Reining) Kathman. She was raised south of Lawrence, Nebraska and attended St. Stephen's School through the eighth grade. On September 30, 1940 she married Marvin H. Oxley at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church in Hastings. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Lucille moved to Hastings at age 17, where she worked cleaning houses and worked at Debus Bakery, Abbott's Dairy, J.M. McDonalds, and the Hastings Regional Center. She was a member of St. Cecilia's Catholic Church.

Lucille was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marvin H. Oxley; infant son, Eugene; five brothers, Herman, Bob, Ed, Vernon, and Ralph; three sisters, Vera Kathman, Marie Rosenau, and Martha Rohner; and one great-grandson, Dustin Hartford.
