Hastings resident, Lucille Marjorie Weber, 81, passed away Thursday, April 19, 2012 at Mary Lanning Memorial HealthCare, Hastings, Nebraska.

Services will be Monday, April 23, 2012; 2:00 P.M. at Butler Volland Chapel, Hastings with Pastor Joel Remmers officiating. Burial will be in Glenvil Cemetery, Glenvil, Nebraska. Visitation will be Saturday, April 21, 2012; 1:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M., Sunday, April 22, 2012; 1:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M. with family present from 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M., and Monday, April 23, 2012; 9:00 A.M. - 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to donor's choice.

Lucille Marjorie Weber was born May 2, 1930 to Martin & Margaret (Eigenberg) Utecht in Hastings, Nebraska. She passed away April 19, 2012 at the Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital in Hastings, Nebraska at the age of 81 years, 11 months, and 346 days. Lucille was a member of First St. Paul's Lutheran Church, she was baptized and confirmed. Lucille attended school and graduated from Glenvil High School. On July 18, 1948 Lucille was united in marriage with Chester Dale Engel in Hastings, Nebraska. Lucille was a homemaker and spent many hours sewing for people. She loved making prom formals, bridal gowns, bridesmaid dresses and many other articles. To this marriage were born two daughters, Donita Lynn on December 19, 1949, and Paula Kay on January 23, 1954. She later went to work at the J.M. McDonalds Warehouse as an order filler. Chet and Lucille divorced in 1979. Lucille loved camping, fishing, gardening, her flower beds and also her four grandchildren. She was a member of the Cozy Corner Extension Club, Women's Auxiliary and was a leader for her girls' 4-H club for many years. Later on Lucille met and married Kenneth Weber on April 23, 1988, in Hastings, Nebraska. They enjoyed camping and fishing also. Kenny later passed away on May 23, 1995 due to cancer. Lucille was then working for Hoff Cleaners/Elly's closet. She enjoyed being around many people and she kept herself very busy with doing many crafts and still doing a limited amount of sewing. In the past couple of years, Lucille has suffered a couple of strokes and a slight case of dementia. She was admitted to the Trego County Nursing Home in Wakenney, Kansas, prior to being returned to Nebraska and taken up residency at the Harvard Rest Haven in Harvard, Nebraska.

Lucille was preceded in death by her parents; Chester Engel; husband, Kenneth Weber; daughter, Donita McKown; and two brothers, Eldon Utecht and Vernon Utecht.
