Former Hastings resident, Luella A. Kruse, 94, died Saturday, June 12, 2010 at the University of Connecticut Health Center in Farmington, Connecticut.
Services will be Monday, June 21, 2010; 2:00 P.M. at Peace Lutheran Church, Hastings, with Rev. Marcus J. Mackay officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings. Visitation will be Sunday, June 20, 2010; 3:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M., Monday, June 21, 2010; 9:00 A.M. - 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home, and 1 hour prior to service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Peace Lutheran Church, 906 N. California Avenue, Hastings, Nebraska.
Luella was born January 18, 1916 to Frank & Anna (Brasch) Lauth in Berwyn, Illinois. After graduating from Riverside High School, she was employed by Illinois Bell Telephone Company in Cicero, Illinois as a telephone operator until her marriage in 1946. As a military wife, she lived in Tennessee, California, Oklahoma, Hawaii, Alabama, and Rhode Island before moving to Nebraska where her husband retired from the U.S. Navy. Mrs. Kruse was an active member of Peace Lutheran Church in Hastings for many years before moving to Connecticut in 2006 to be near her daughter.
Luella was preceded in death by parents; husband, Andrew L. Kruse; one brother; and one sister.
