Hastings resident, Lyle Lee Kump, 63, passed away Sunday, March 28, 2010 at his home after a short struggle with cancer.
Services will be Wednesday, March 31, 2010; 11:00 A.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel, Hastings, with Pastor Adam White officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 30, 2010; 1:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M. and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Mid-Rivers Red Cross or Heartland Pet Connection.
Lyle was born March 27, 1947 in Belleville, Kansas to Charles & Isabel (Diven) Kump. He graduated from Belleville High School in 1965. He attended Junior College in Concordia, Kansas. He then went to work for the Rock Island Railroad as a time keeper. He married Ann "Peach" Spitz on October 26, 1968 at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church in Hastings. He went to work for Spitz Foundry, Inc. in August of 1969. In 1990, he became President of the company. He worked for Spitz Foundry for 40 years. He was a member of American Foundry, Society, Masonic Temple #50, and the NRA. He enjoyed spending time with his family at the lake house and watching his grandsons play. He will live forever in our hearts and memories.
Lyle was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Cheri Lynn; and grandson, Scott Siebrass.
