M. Dale Curtis

Hastings resident M. Dale Curtis, 76, passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at his home.   

Rosary will be at 9:30 a.m. with the Memorial Service following at 10 a.m. Friday, December 1, at Butler Volland Chapel in Hastings with Father Craig Clinch officiating. There will be no burial held at this time. Memorials may be given to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The service will be live-streamed on Livingston Butler Volland Funeral Home’s website. Dale was born January 14, 1947, in Adams County, NE to Maynard B. and Mary Helen (Miller) Curtis. He graduated from Hastings High School in 1965 and received his Associate’s Degree in electronics from Southeast Community College in Milford. Dale married LeeAnn Blunt on August 26, 1968, at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Hastings; they later divorced.

Dale was self-employed and then spent 10 years as the Adams County District 5 Commissioner. He was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church. Dale enjoyed spending his time hunting, fishing, and gardening, supplying so many with tomatoes and cucumbers.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents, brother, DeWayne, son, Brandon Curtis, and granddaughter Erin Streff.
