Madeline L. Peterson

Hastings resident Madeline L. Peterson, 90, passed away Friday, February 3, 2023, at Mary Lanning Healthcare, Hastings, NE.    

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, February 9, at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd with Pastor Paul Ozbun officiating. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, February 9, at Loup Fork Cemetery in Boelus, NE. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. with family present Wednesday, February 8, at the funeral home and one hour before the service at the church. Memorials may be given to the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd.

Madeline was born on October 20, 1932, to Ted & Marie (Sonderup) Petersen in Howard County, NE. She graduated from Boelus High School in 1950.  Madeline married Robert G. Peterson on October 9, 1954, in Dannebrog, NE. She was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd.

Madeline was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Peterson; sister, Garnet Meyer; and infant son, William. She is survived by her sister, Carol Steussy; cousin, Elsie Stonestreet. Other surviving relatives include children, Theodore Peterson, David Peterson (Rosie), Laura Roberts, and Amy Kerrins (John); grandchildren, Jesse Roberts (Kori), Jacob Roberts, Samantha Kerrins, and Kathleen Kerrins; great-grandchildren, Charlie and Evie-Rae Roberts; a great-grandchild due in the fall; and nieces and nephews.
