Hastings resident, Magdalen Martha Blauvelt, 88, of Perkins Pavilion died Thursday, July 18, 2002 at Perkins Pavilion, Good Samaritan Village, Hastings, Nebraska.
Rosary service will be Sunday, July 21, 2002; 7:00 P.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, July 22, 2002; 10:00 A.M. at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church with Father Larry Gyhra officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska.
Magdalen Martha Blauvelt was born November 23, 1913 in Exeter, Nebraska to Samuel A. & Theresia (Becker) Spitz. She graduated from Exeter High School and married Lyle Blauvelt on April 30, 1936 in Exeter, Nebraska. He preceded her in death in 1982. They moved to Hastings, Nebraska where she was part owner and bookkeeper for 20 years at Spitz & Blauvelt Machine Shop & Foundry. She was a member of St. Cecilia's Catholic Church, Altar Society, Crosier Apostolate and a past member of Cheery Homemakers Extension Club. She was a long time volunteer at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital Pink Ladys.
Magdalen Martha Blauvelt was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Lyle, 1 sister, 2 brothers and 2 grandsons.
