Margaret A. Bruckman

Glenvil resident Margaret (Marmie) A. Bruckman, 94, passed away Thursday, December 21, 2023, at her home with family by her side.    

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 27, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Glenvil with Pastor Jonathan Jehorek officiating. Burial will be at Blue Valley Cemetery in Ayr. Visitation will be 1-7 p.m. with family present 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, December 26, at the funeral home, and one hour before the service at the church. Memorials may be given to Morrison Cancer Center. Marmie was born December 12, 1929, in Hastings, NE to Francis and Gertrude (Burroughs) Dickerson of Holstein, she was the sixth of eight children. She graduated from Hastings Senior High School in 1947. Margaret married Victor Bruckman on April 16, 1947; he preceded her in death on November 26, 2005.

Marmie was a homemaker and was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. She enjoyed spending her time with family, playing cards, and watching her beloved Cornhuskers. Beside raising her six children, she clerked at Pastime Lanes and Meyerson Distributing in Hastings and loved being in league bowling at Pastime. Her greatest joy was her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, who all loved her and will always keep her in their hearts.

Marmie was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; son, Carter Bruckman; daughter, Julie Bruckman Ellis; sisters, Bobbie Scheidies, Dorothy McKie, Mary Clark, and Jane Esch; and brothers, Earl Dickerson, Richard Dickerson, and Duke Dickerson.
