Margaret Hinrichs-Baker

Hastings resident, Margaret "Markey" Hinrichs-Baker, 87, passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at Mary Lanning Healthcare, Hastings, Nebraska.

Rosary will be Saturday, January 21, 2017; 10:00 A.M. and Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 A.M. at St. Michael's Catholic Church with Father Michael Houlihan officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings. Memorials may be given to St. Michael's Catholic Church. Visitation will be Friday, January 20, 2017; 1:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. with family present 5:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home, and one hour prior to service at the church.

Markey was born January 1, 1930 in Spalding, Nebraska. She graduated from St. Cecilia High School. Markey married LaVern Hinrichs in 1947 at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church; he preceded her in death on October 15, 1968. She married James J. Baker in 1971 in York, Nebraska; he preceded her in death on October 29, 1997.

Markey worked as a secretary for Hastings Regional Center for many years before retiring. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church and Altar Society.

Markey was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Betty Carroll; and husbands, LaVern Hinrichs and James Barker.
