Hastings resident Margaret E. Keller, 90, passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2018, at her home.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 15, at Zion Lutheran Church in Hastings with Pastor Paul Warneke officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Hastings. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Zion Lutheran Church. Visitation will be 1-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, and one hour prior to service at the church.
Margaret was born November 12, 1927, in Ayr, NE to William E. & Gladys A. (Philleo) Gerloff. She graduated from Ayr High School. Margaret married George M. Keller on May 12, 1950; he preceded her in death on February 26, 1999. She worked as a telephone operator at the Harvard Air Base after graduating and then as a telephone operator supervisor for Lincoln Telegraph in Hastings. She left the phone company to raise her family of three children. She jumped back into the workforce when her children were in high school, working for Allen's, in the clothing department until she retired.
Margaret was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. Her greatest joy was doing crossword puzzles and following the Kansas City Royals. She was loved by many and will be missed by all.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George M Keller; and sisters, Darlene Zbiegien, Neva Walker, LiVonia Wengler and Roberta Gerloff.
