Hastings resident, Margaret Marie Strobl, 87, of 746 East 5th Street, died Thursday, February 26, 2009.
Services will be Monday, March 2, 2009; 11:00 A.M. at First St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Hastings with Rev. Harold D. Stromer officiating. Burial will be at 2:00 P.M. in the Red Cloud Cemetery, Red Cloud, Nebraska. Visitation will be Friday, February 27, 2009; 1:00 P.M. - 5:00 P.M., Saturday, February 28, 2009; 8:00 A.M.-5:00 P.M. at the funeral home and Monday, March 2, 2009, 1 hr. prior to service at the church. Memorials may be given to the family.
Mrs. Strobl was born October 12, 1921 to John H. & Fenna R. (Steffens) Post in Adams County, south of Pauline, Nebraska on the family farm. She attended Union School and graduated from Blue Hill High School on May 19, 1939. She attended Joseph's Beauty School and was a licensed beautician. On November 18, 1942, she married George W. Strobl and he preceded her in death on September 22, 1979. She was a homemaker and a psychic technician from 1942 until 1992 at the Hastings Regional Center. At one time, she had served the most years of any state employee. She was a lifelong Adams County resident and a member of First St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Strobl was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George and three brothers, Henry, Barney & Lloyd Post.
