Margaretha A. Hurd

Former area resident Margaretha A. Hurd, 90, passed away Saturday, May 18, 2024, at Sutton Community Home, Sutton, NE.    

Private burial will be at Parkview Cemetery in Hastings. There will be no viewing or visitation. Memorials may be given to Hastings Meals On Wheels or Hastings Public Library. 

Margaretha was born January 19, 1934, in Burwell, NE to Arnold and Lela (Key) Garska. She graduated from Fairfield High School in 1952. Margaretha married Allen Hurd on January 12, 1954; he preceded her in death on August 25, 1999. She was a homemaker and a member of the Second Presbyterian Church in Hastings. Margaretha enjoyed playing with her grandchildren and baking cookies with them. 

Margaretha was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Allen Hurd; and many other family members.
