Marguerite Polmantier

Hastings resident, Marguerite A. Polmantier, 94, passed away Thursday, September 1, 2016 at Perkins Pavilion Good Samaritan Society-Hastings Village, Hastings, Nebraska.

Services will be Tuesday, September 6, 2016; 10:30 A.M. at Grace United Methodist Church, Hastings with Pastor Kent Rogers officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings. Memorials may be given to Grace United Methodist Church. Visitation will be Monday, September 5, 2016; 1:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. with family present 5:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home, and one hour prior to service at the church.

Marguerite was born June 28, 1922 in Fremont, Nebraska to Boyd & Anna (Dobrovolny) Charleston. She graduated from Fremont High School in 1940 and married Jackson Polmantier on August 17, 1942. She and her husband lived in Fremont while raising their family. They moved to Hastings in 1969 where they owned and operated the Imperial Lounge and Package Store at the Imperial Mall. After the sale of the business, Marguerite worked for the school lunch program at Hastings Public Schools. She also was employed by Big G Ace Hardware as the sales associate until her retirement.

She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church for nearly 50 years.

Marguerite loved her home and found great joy being with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed playing bridge and meeting many new friends while playing. She also loved to bake and supplied her friends and family with tasty goodies from her kitchen until just a few weeks ago.

Marguerite was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jackson; daughter, Cindy Sara Polmantier; great-grandson, Tommy Miller; four sisters; and three brothers.
