Marian Dirks

Hastings resident, Marian Dirks, 82, passed away Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Harvard Rest Haven, Harvard, Nebraska.

Services will be Thursday, April 11, 2013; 10:30 A.M. at First Presbyterian Church, Hastings with Rev. Dr. William Nottage-Tacey officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Memorials may be given to First Presbyterian Church. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 10, 2013; 9:00 A.M. - 9:00 P.M. with family receiving friends from 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home, and one hour prior to the service at the church.

Marian was born July 13, 1930 in Sutton, Nebraska to August & Edna (Bettger) Meyer. She attended Sutton Public Schools. Marian married William "Bob" R. Dirks on June 5, 1949 at First Presbyterian Church in Hastings. Marian worked as an aide at Mary Lanning Hospital, where she met her future husband, Bob. After marriage she was a homemaker and worked part-time at Custom Pack, Inc., the family business. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and following their activities. Marian was a member of First Presbyterian Church and Kountry Kruisers Camping Club.

Marian was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Robert A. Meyer; and brother-in-law, Donald Ochsner.
