Marie Ocker

Marie H. Ocker, 98, of Perkins Pavilion, died Friday, July 6, 2001 at Perkins Pavilion.

Services will be Tuesday, July 10, 2001; 10:00 P.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel with Rev. Kathleen Kasper officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska.

Marie H. Ocker was born June 12, 1903 near Glenvil, Nebraska to Albert & Eda ( Hoppens) Fitzke. She married Gustav 'Gus' Ocker on May 31, 1946 and he preceded her in death in 1974. Marie spent her entire life caring for family and friends. She was a homemaker and did volunteer work. She worked at Sunnyside Retirement Home and First St. Paul's Lutheran Church for many years serving dinners. After her mothers death in childbirth, Marie cared for her father, brothers and surviving sister. She was lovingly called 'Mimi' by her great-great-niece and nephew, Alyssa & Matt. She was a member of First St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

Marie H. Ocker was preceded in death by her husband, Gustav, step son, Erwin Ocker, 2 brothers, Louis & Edmond, a sister, Frieda and a nephew Ronald Fitzke.

Butler-Volland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
