Marie Smidt

Former Hastings resident, Marie L. Smidt, 85, of Blue Hill Care Center, died Friday, July 14, 2006 at Blue Hill Care Center, Blue Hill, Nebraska.

Services will be Monday, July 17, 2006; 10:00 A.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel with Pastor Jerry Bumgardner officiating. Burial will be in Glenvil Cemetery, Glenvil, Nebraska.

Mrs. Smidt was born August 18, 1920 in Glenvil, Nebraska to Jake & Helena (Person) Lindemann. She lived in the area until 1943, then moved to Chicago, Illinois for two years, and returned to Hastings, Nebraska in 1945. She moved to Johnson Lake, Elwood, Nebraska and later returned to Hastings. She was a homemaker and attended Berean Bible Church. She loved her family and enjoyed cooking, sewing and square dancing.

Mrs. Smidt was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Gordon Smidt, one brother and seven sisters.
