Marietta Vollweiler

February 23, 1916 — October 2, 2008

Former Hastings resident, Marietta Rosalie Vollweiler, 92, of Alliance, Nebraska, died Thursday, October 2, 2008 at Rapid City Regional Hospital in Rapid City, South Dakota.

Services will be Monday, October 6, 2008; 2:00 P.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel with Rev. Doug A. Griger and Rev. Pat Kelley officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Visitation will be Sunday, October 5, 2008; from 3 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. with family present 4:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. and Monday, October 6, 2008; 9:00 A.M. until service time. Memorials may be given to Grace United Methodist Church, Hastings or to the Sound System Fund of the Alliance United Methodist Church, 704 Box Butte Avenue, Alliance, Nebraska 69301.

Mrs. Vollweiler was born February 23, 1916 in Hastings, Nebraska to Jacob & Amelia (Eckhardt) Kister. She was a 1934 graduate of Hastings High School. Following graduation, she was employed in the offices of K & R Inc., the Naval Ammunitions Depot, Bendix Company in Omaha, and Nelson Johnson CPA office in Hastings. On April 27, 1947, she married Jacob (Jake) Vollweiler in the First Congregational Church at Hastings. For many years, she was an active member of Grace United Methodist Church of Hastings.

Mrs. Vollweiler was preceded in death by parents; brother, Myron 'Mike' Kister; sister, Dorothy May Kasiska and her husband, Jake Vollweiler.

Survivors include:
Daughter: Linda Vollweiler - Alliance, NE
Sister-in-law: Helen Vollweiler
Several Nieces and Nephews as well as many friends.
