Marjorie Conner

July 24, 1927 — November 19, 2009

Hastings resident, Marjorie "Mickey" Ann (Wilson) Conner, 82, passed away Thursday, November 19, 2009 at her residence in Hastings, Nebraska.

Services will be Monday, November 23, 2009; 11:00 A.M. at First United Methodist Church, Hastings with Pastor Sam Rathod officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Visitation will be Sunday, November 22, 2009; 1:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M. with family present from 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at Livingston-Butler-Volland Funeral Home, and 1 hour prior to service at First United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Crossroads, Diabetes Association, or donor's choice.

Marjorie was the third child of Guy Elmer & Emma Maleta (Metcalf) Wilson on July 24, 1927. They moved to Columbus, Nebraska in 1932 and resided there for 10 years, then moved to a farm in Nance County in 1943. She attended high schools in Columbus, St. Edward, Grand Island, and graduated in 1945 from Fullerton High. She met future husband Robert Dwayne Conner in her senior year and they were married on July 26, 1947 on Robert's parents' 35th wedding anniversary at their home. She was a past member of the Christian Women's Club, Health & Home Extension Club, Optic Mrs. Club, O.G. Craft Club, Hastings Women's Bowling Association, and Women's Golf Association. Presently, she was a 52 year member of the First United Methodist Church and Methodist Women's Association, 50 year member of Mary Lanning Hospital Auxiliary. She was a two time President of B.P.O. Does. She and Robert were involved for many years in volunteer work with Meals on Wheels, Mary Lanning Hospital, and other civic associations. She enjoyed her collection of dolls, cups & saucers, spoons, mugs, bells, and salt & pepper shakers which they collected on many journeys they took in the United States and foreign countries. She was employed by North Western Bell Telephone Company, Sid's Motel, and Adams Central School. She played women's softball on several teams and was also on bowling teams. She also played golf for Women's Golf Association. She was considered a good cook and loved her family above all else. She enjoyed playing and watching sports, especially Nebraska & Hastings teams. She loved fishing on their boat with family and friends.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sisters; Treva and Nancy, one brother; James and one granddaughter Lindsay Conner.
