Hastings resident, Marjorie Pearl (Weeks) Thaden, passed away Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at Mary Lanning Healthcare, Hastings, Nebraska.

Memorial Service will be Saturday, June 7, 2014; 11:00 A.M. at First St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Hastings with Pastor Joel Remmers officating. Burial will be Saturday, June 7, 2014; 2:30 P.M. in Pleasanton Cemetery, Pleasanton. There will be no viewing or visitation. Book signing will be Friday, June 6, 2014; 9:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M. Memorials may be given to First St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

Marjorie Pearl (Weeks) Thaden was born on the farm south of Hoxie, Kansas to Clarence & Pearl (Godfrey) Weeks. She graduated from the Sheridan County High School. Marjorie attended Fort Hays College and taught school for three years. In 1947, she married LaVern Thaden and they moved to Pleasanton, Nebraska. In 1950, they moved to Hastings, Nebraska and she worked a short time at Brach-Thompson Store, Kerro Manufacturing Company, Hastings Tribune until her retirement in 1986, and later worked at Walgreens retiring in 2007. She was a member of the First St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, LaVern Thaden; son, Donald Thaden; daughter, Susan Rosch; parents; one sister & brother-in-law, Violet & Floyd Rogers; one brother, Al Weeks; sister-in-law, Beth Weeks; and brother-in-law, Jimmy Pratt.
