Mark Larreau

Mark Steven Larreau, 48, of 742 Williams, Hastings, Nebraska died Monday, April 27, 2009 at St. Elizabeth Regional Medical Center in Lincoln, Nebraska.

A celebration of Mark's life will be Saturday, May 2, 2009; 10:00 A.M. at First St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Hastings, Nebraska with Pastor Joel Remmers officiating. Burial will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Mark S. Larreau memorial fund.

Mark was born December 9, 1960 in Fort Dodge, Iowa to Gerald & LaDonna Larreau. After graduating from Wauneta High School and a variety of jobs, he decided to follow his dad in the masonry line of work. On April 8, 1989 he married Christina (Zedicher) Larreau in Osceola, NE. In 1990, they moved to Hastings, NE where he continued to do masonry work and he helped build the old Kearney Wal-Mart store. He then joined the Hastings Wal-Mart family on November 5, 1992. After working several positions he returned to his previous position as a department manager in the sporting goods department, a job he greatly loved. Mark loved to fish, camp, collect Hot Wheels, watching his great nephews (his special buddies) Brady, Dylan, Keith and the neighborhood children in his front yard. He was an avid NE Cornhusker fan, collecting much memorabilia, hosting many game day parties and he will be monitoring the Huskers rebuilding years. Mark will be missed by his family and many friends.

Mark was preceded in death by his father, Gerald, sister, Carol and his daughter, Shanna.
