Martin Kitten

June 24, 1913 — September 12, 2006

Hastings resident, Martin A. Kitten, 93, of College View Retirement Center, died Tuesday, September 12, 2006 at Perkins Pavilion.

Rosary will be Friday, September 15, 2006; 7:30 P.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, September 16, 2006; 10:00 A.M. at St. Michael's Catholic Church with Father Michael Houlihan officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Visitation will be Thursday, September 14, 2006; 5pm-9pm, Friday, September 15, 2006; 9am-9pm at Butler-Volland Funeral Home and Saturday, September 16, 2006; 1 hr. prior to service at St. Michael's Catholic Church. Memorials to St. Michael's School.

Mr. Kitten was born June 24, 1913 in Lawrence, Nebraska to John & Clara (Dall) Kitten. He moved from Lawrence to Hastings, Nebraska in 1940. On October 28, 1940, he married Sophia A. Reining in Lawrence, Nebraska and she preceded him in death on January 3, 1976. He worked at Western Land Roller in the sheet metal fabrication department. On September 18, 1982, he married Caroline A. Reiman Danehey at St. Michael's Catholic Church. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church and its Men's Club.

Mr. Kitten was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Sophia, two brothers and five sisters.
