Lifelong Hastings resident, Marvin D. Goldenstein, Sr., 74, died Thursday, August 5, 2004 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital after a long battle with cancer.
Memorial services will be Saturday, August 28, 2004; 10:00 A.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel with Dr. W.T. Israel officiating. Graveside service and joint committal for both Marvin and his wife Charleen, who died December 8, 2003 will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska.
Mr. Goldenstein, Sr. was born April 13, 1930 in Clay County, Nebraska to William & Ethel (Engel) Goldenstein. He married Charleen R. Guest on December 10, 1950 in Hastings, Nebraska. Together they raised two children, Marvin Jr. and Raleigh. He was employed as a crane operator at Kully Pipe & Steel and was the proud owner of many rental homes in Hastings. He was a member of the Second Presbyterian Church in Hastings.
Mr. Goldenstein Sr. was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife, Charleen, two brothers, Gerald Goldenstein and Roger Goldenstein.
