Marvin H. Oxley, 84, of 927 N. Saunders, died Tuesday, January 8, 2002 at The Lincoln Ambassador, Lincoln, Nebraska.

Rosary will be Thursday, January 10, 2002; 8:30 P.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, January 11, 2002; 10:30 A.M. at St. Michael's Catholic Church with Father Michael Houlihan officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska.

Marvin H. Oxley was born January 5, 1918 in Clay Center, Nebraska to Winfred Charles & Hattie (Campbell) Oxley. He was raised by Jesse & Jenny (Gunderson) Burt of Juniata, Nebraska after the death of his mother in 1918. He attended Fairfield High School, Fairfield, Nebraska. On September 30, 1940, he married Lucille Kathman of Lawrence, Nebraska at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church, Hastings, Nebraska. He served in the United States Army during WWII from November 7, 1942 until September 9, 1945 and received the Purple Heart. He worked for Western Land Roller until he retired in 1977, due to his health. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church and the V.F.W, both in Hastings, Nebraska.

Marvin Oxley was preceded in death by his parents, step mother, foster parents, 1 son, Eugene Edward Oxley, 1 brother and 1 sister
