Mary Beck

Former Trumbull resident, Mary C. Beck, 79, died Saturday, April 3, 2010 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital, Hastings, Nebraska.

Rosary will be Tuesday, April 6, 2010; 7:00 P.M. at the Butler Volland Chapel, Hastings, Nebraska. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, April 7, 2010; 10:00 A.M. at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church, Hastings, Nebraska with Father Joseph M. Walsh and Father James Meysenburg officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Visitation will be Monday, April 5, 2010; 5 P.M. - 9 P.M., Tuesday, April 6, 2010; 9 A.M - 9 P.M. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Memorials may be given to St. Cecilia's Catholic Church.

Mary C. Beck was born May 28, 1930 in Creighton, Nebraska to Anton (Tony) & Mabel M. (Schultz) Eggerling. She graduated from St. Ludgers Academy with normal training and taught school at Bloomfield. On June 6, 1950, Mary married Sylvester (Sid) Beck at St. Ludgers Catholic Church. They moved to Trumbull from Wakefield in July of 1961. Mary and Sid were foster parents to approximately sixty-five children in twenty-two years. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Cecilia's Catholic Church, Altar Society, Catholic Daughters of the Americas and the Scoville Progressive Extension Club. She was a former member of the Foster Care review board, and Cub Scout Den Mother.

Mary C. Beck was preceded in death by her parents, son, Alan Beck, infant daughter, Mary Frances Beck and two brothers, Tony and Joseph Eggerling.
