Mary Farmer

Hastings resident, Mary "Gerri" G. Farmer, 68, passed away Sunday, June 27, 2010 at the Nebraska Heart Institute in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Rosary will be Thursday, July 1, 2010; 7:00 P.M. at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, July 2, 2010; 10:00 A.M. at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church, Hastings, Nebraska with Father James Meysenburg officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 30, 2010; 1:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M.; Thursday, July 1, 2010; 9:00 A.M. - 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be given to St. Cecilia's Catholic Church, Hastings Catholic Schools Trust, or to the Amy Farmer Trust.

Gerri was born December 25, 1941 in Spalding, Nebraska to Frank & Evelyn (Moran) O'Neill. She graduated from St. Cecilia High School in 1959. On October 22, 1960 she married Vail Farmer in Spalding, Nebraska. She worked as an accountant for Nebraska Urology Center in Hastings for 30 years. She was known and respected for her honesty and accuracy. She was a member of St. Cecilia's Catholic Church, Altar Society, Catholic Daughters, and Xi Alpha Pi Sorority. Gerri was a very devoted mother, grandmother, and friend to many. She was dedicated to her Faith, involved in many church activities, and loved serving others. She was a compassionate and caring woman who genuinely enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Gerri was very proud of her grandchildren and was often seen watching and supporting them in their many activities.

Gerri was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Craig Robert Farmer; and husband, Vail Farmer.
