Mary Harms

Glenvil resident, Mary Lou Harms, 75, passed away Monday, March 19, 2012 at her home.

Services will be Thursday, March 22, 2012; 10:00 A.M. at First St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Hastings with Pastor Joel Remmers officiating. Burial will be in Glenvil Cemetery, Glenvil, Nebraska. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 20, 2012; 5:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M., Wednesday, March 21, 2012; 9:00 A.M. - 9:00 P.M. with family present from 5:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home, and one hour prior to service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Crossroads Center Rescue Mission, Royal Family Kids Camp, or First St. Paul's Lutheran Church-Hastings, NE.

Mary Lou was born October 2, 1936 in Glenvil, Nebraska to Wessel & Grace (Memmen) Murman. She graduated from Glenvil High School in 1954. Mary Lou married Eldon E. Harms on July 31, 1955 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church west of Glenvil, Nebraska. She was a homemaker and a member of First St. Paul's Lutheran Church, WELCA, and Spring Ranch Homemakers. Mary Lou was very involved with the church; she sang in the church choir, Sunday school teacher, bible school teacher, music director for Sunday school programs, and Circle Bible study. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, handwork, baking, flowers, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Menno Murman; sister and brother-in-law, Frieda & Ervin Ocker; brother-in-law, Reemt Stromer; and one grandchild, Nicholas Dreeszen.
