Hastings resident, Mary Elizabeth Johnson, 84, passed away Monday, March 28, 2011 at Perkins Pavilion Good Samaritan Society-Hastings Village in Hastings, Nebraska.
Memorial services will be Monday, April 4, 2011; 2:00 P.M. at All Saints Chapel, Good Samaritan Village, Hastings with Pastor Joel Remmers officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Saron Lutheran Cemetery, Saronville, Nebraska. There will be no visitation. There will be a book signing Saturday, April 2, 2011; 8:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Bethpage or First St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
Mary was born April 28, 1926 in Chicago, Illinois to Kanuth & Ingeborg (Risberg) Johnson. She lived at Bethpage in Axtell, Nebraska from 1937 until 1980; she moved to Perkins Pavilion in 1980. She loved to weave and published a book "God's Tapestry". She was a member of First St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Weavers Guild, WELCA, and YWCA.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Gus Johnson.
