Mary Lantz

Hastings resident, Mary Karen Lantz, 78, passed away Sunday, August 27, 2017, at her home.

Memorial Services will be Thursday, August 31, 2017; 10:30 A.M. at Grace United Methodist Church, Hastings with Pastor Kent Rogers officiating. Burial will be Thursday, August 31, 2017; 2:00 P.M. in Hildreth Cemetery, Hildreth. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Hastings Public Library. Book signing will be Wednesday, August 30, 2017; 9:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M. at the funeral home, and one hour prior to service at the church. There will be no viewing or visitation.

Mary Karen Lantz was born in Bartley, Nebraska on December 16, 1938 to Virgil and Goldie (Meyers) Lantz. She died suddenly and unexpectedly at her home on Sunday, August 27, 2017. Mary graduated from Hastings High School in 1956. She then lived in Hastings before moving to the Denver, Colorado area in 1965. Upon retirement from the DMV at Arapahoe County in Colorado, she moved to McCook, Nebraska in 1998. She moved back to Hastings in 2004.

Mary was active in her church, and for a time was a member of the Hastings Housing Authority Board. She had many friends, and was a devoted and loving mother.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; brother-in-law, Corles "Perk" Perkins; sister-in-law, Carol Elizabeth Lantz; and grandson, Jamison Taylor Callan.
