Mary Persinger

April 16, 1914 — June 7, 2003

Former Hastings resident, Mary Marie Persinger, 89, of Hurricane, Utah, died Saturday, June 7, 2003 in Harbor, Washington on San Juan Island.

Services will be Thursday, June 12, 2003; 1:00 P.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel with Rev. Jim Miller officiating. Burial will be in Juniata Cemetery, Juniata, Nebraska.

Mary Marie Persinger was born April 16, 1914 in Republic County, near Lovewell, Kansas to Earl & Effie (Osborne) Imler. On March 19, 1930, she married Alva Persinger in Belleville, Kansas and he preceded her in death on December 9, 1989. They lived in Republic County, Kansas until 1946 when they moved to Juniata, Nebraska. They resided there for nearly 40 years before moving to Hastings, Nebraska. After Alva passed away, Marie continued living in their home until March of 2001. She then moved to Roche Harbor, Washington on San Juan Island to live with her daughter, Darlene and son-in-law, Richard. The final 5 months of her life, she lived with her son and daughter-in-law, Marvin & Jeanette Persinger. She was a faithful member of the United Methodist Church in Juniata.

Mary Marie Persinger was preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers, 2 sisters, husband, Alva, son, Eugene and 1 grandchild.

Nita Janssen - Juniata, NE
10 Grandchildren
Numerous Great Grandchildren
