Mary Sykes

Hastings resident, Mary Beth Sykes, 60, of 2424Osborne Dr. East, died Tuesday, December 30, 2003 at her home.

Services will be Monday, January 5, 2004; 10:00 A.M. at First St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Hastings, Nebraska, with Pastor Larry Spomer officiating. Burial will be in Kearney City Cemetery, Kearney, Nebraska.

She was born August 3, 1943 in Clay Center, Nebraska to Ernest W. & Rosemary (Hakanson) Brennfoerder. She graduated from Fairfield High School in 1961 and from Nebraska Wesleyan University in 1965 with a degree in Secondary Education. She taught school in Gretna & Kearney, Nebraska. She later worked at the Platte River State Park and moved from Omaha, Nebraska to Hastings, Nebraska in 2003. She was the Activity Assistant at Perkins Pavilion. She was active in church, liked to read and her family was important to her.

She was preceded in death by her father, daughter, Michelle Sykes and a brother Bill Brennfoerder.
