Marybelle Bird

Hastings resident, Marybelle F. Bird, 92, passed away Friday, April 6, 2012 at Perkins Pavilion Good Samaritan Society-Hastings Village, Hastings, Nebraska.

Memorial services will be Saturday, April 14, 2012; 2:00 P.M. at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Samuel R. Rathod officiating. A private burial will be held at a later date in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. There will be no visitation as Marybelle was cremated. Memorials may be given to First United Methodist Church, 614 N. Hastings Avenue, Hastings, Nebraska 68901.

Marybelle was born February 14, 1920 in Hastings, Nebraska to Charles W. & Ruby E. (Marian) Rants. She graduated from Hastings High School in 1939, and then graduated from Sherwood School of Music in Chicago, Illinois in 1955. On May 1, 1941 she married Donald E. Bird. Donald preceded her in death on May 12, 1997. She was a music teacher providing private piano and organ lessons. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Church Circle, and Bell Choir. She was also a member of the Central Music Association, WSCS, Phi Sigma Alpha Sorority, and Organ Society AGO.

Marybelle was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald; three sisters; and one brother.
