Matthew Whitlake

Former Hastings resident, Matthew Allen Whitlake, of Milford, Nebraska, 40, passed away Sunday, September 21, 2014 at Tabitha Care Center, Lincoln, Nebraska.

Services will be Saturday, September 27, 2014; 10:30 A.M. at Butler Volland Chapel, Hastings with Rev. Dr. Lee R. Wigert officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date.

Matthew was born October 9, 1973 in Hastings, Nebraska to Wesley & Mona (Cox) Whitlake. He graduated from Amherst High School in 1993. He worked as a caretaker for others in nursing homes and many assisted living residents.

Matthew was preceded in death by his grandparents, Elwood & Evelyn Whitlake and Melvin & Eileen Cox; aunt, Faye Kloke; uncle, Ronald Whitlake; and cousin, Dawson Cox.
