Maxine Wells

Hastings resident, Maxine Wells, 96, passed away Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Perkins Pavilion - Good Samaritan Village, Hastings, Nebraska.

Memorial Services will be Thursday, February 16; 10:30 A.M. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Glenvil, Nebraska with Rev. Rob Garton officiating. Burial will be in the Fairfield Cemetery, Fairfield. Memorials may be given to the family to be designated later. Viewing and visitation will be Tuesday, February 14, 2017; 1:00 P.M. - 5:00 P.M. and Wednesday, February 15, 2017; 1:00 P.M. - 5:00 P.M. at the funeral home, and one hour prior to service at the church.

Maxine was born August 2, 1920 in Fairfield, Nebraska to Leslie James & Myrtle (Wilson) Wakelin. She graduated from Fairfield High School. Maxine married Bud Wells November 19, 1941 and to this marriage was born 9 children: Janis, James, Glenda, Charles, Robert, Ronald, Donald, Patty and Joan. Maxine was a homemaker, and lived most of her life in Glenvil, where she was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. During the years she was active in Cub Scouts, 4-H and the Double Dozen Club in Glenvil and retired from Leverage Tool.

Maxine was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Scott Stahl; 2 brothers; Robert Wakelin and Bill Wakelin; 3 sisters, Geraldine Steiger, Rogene Kieswetter and Mildred Kahman.
