Former Hastings resident, Mercedes Mae (Reynolds) Hansen, 93, of Plattsmouth, Nebraska died Friday, July 13, 2007, at Clarkson Hospital, Omaha, Nebraska.
Services will be Wednesday, July 18, 2007; 2:00 P.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel with Rev. Alan Davis officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 17, 2007; 10 A.M.-9 P.M. with family present from 7 P.M.- 9 P.M. & Wednesday, July 18, 2007; 9 A.M. until service time. Memorials may be given to the Nebraska Masonic Home, Plattsmouth, Nebraska.
Mrs. Hansen was born July 23, 1913 in Milford, Nebraska to Charles & Ada Mae (Divan) Reynolds on the family farm in Seward County Nebraska. She attended a one-room rural school and graduated in 1931 from Seward High School. She attended Christian College in Columbia, Missouri. On September 1, 1935, she married William U. Hansen at her family home in Seward County. They moved to Hastings in 1943 and resided on East 6th Street. She moved to the Nebraska Masonic Home in Plattsmouth following her husband's death in1996. While residing in Hastings, she was active in the Methodist Church, the Order of the Eastern Star and the Daughters of the American Revolution, In addition to being a homemaker, she was interested in family history and genealogy.
Mrs. Hansen was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William; a brother, Marlin Reynolds, and a grandson, Erik Hansen.
