Merces Merrill

Hastings resident, Merces J. Merrill, 80, of Good Samaritan Village, Hastings, NE died Saturday, June 7, 2008.

Memorial services will be Wednesday, June 11, 2008; 11:00 A.M. at Lutheran Church of The Good Shepherd with Pastor Del Klover officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Omaha, Nebraska. Memorials may be given to Good Samaritan Village in Hastings. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 10, 2008; 7P.M.-9P.M at the funeral home.

Merces was born November 15, 1927 to Jalmer and Eunice (Wingate) Nelsen in Soldier, Iowa. She was baptized January 8, 1928 and confirmed July 12, 1942 in the Soldier Lutheran Church. She attended rural elementary school and high school in Soldier. After graduation she moved to Omaha, NE and began her career in office administration and accounting. On November 26, 1947 she married Gale Merrill. Merces was a member of Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Hastings.

Merces was preceded in death by her parents and her brother LeRoy Nelsen
