Michael Hill

Hastings resident, Michael Steven Hill, 61, passed away Friday, April 5, 2013 at Mary Lanning Healthcare, Hastings, Nebraska.

Services will be Wednesday, April 10, 2013; 2:00 P.M. at Butler Volland Chapel, Hastings with Rev. Anna Mosby officiating. Burial will be Thursday, April 11, 2013; 2:00 P.M. in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Good Samaritan Village. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 9, 2013; 1:00 P.M. - 5:00 P.M. and Wednesday, April 10, 2013; 10:00 A.M. - 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Michael Steven Hill was born in Hastings, Nebraska on April 27, 1951 to Wilda Mullen Hill and Isiah Hill. He was their only child. Michael attended Lincoln School in Hastings. The U.S. Navy family moved to Newport, Rhode Island then to San Diego, California where Michael graduated from high school. Michael returned to Hastings and attended Hastings College. He was employed at Hastings Regional Center, Good Samaritan Village and Mary Lanning Hospital. He lived in San Diego for several years and returned to Hastings when his mother passed away. Michael loved being with his family and friends. He especially made time to visit the shut-ins at Good Samaritan. He didn't meet any strangers and was loved by all.

Michael was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Wilda; loving grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Hunter Mullen, Sr.; seven uncles and aunts; cousins; and many friends.
