Michael P. "Mike" Stroyek

Hastings resident Michael P. “Mike” Stroyek, 69, passed away Thursday, January 4, 2024, at Providence Place, Hastings, NE.    

Memorial Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 26, at Butler Volland Chapel in Hastings with Rev. Andy Springer officiating. Burial will be at Parkview Cemetery in Hastings. A book signing will be 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Thursday, April 25, at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date. Mike was born January 15, 1954 in Goodland, KS to Walter and Bonnie “Nadyne” (Scofield) Stroyek. He graduated from Hastings Senior High School in 1972. Mike married Mitzi Katzberg on June 20, 1975 at Zion Lutheran Church in Hastings. 

Mike worked for Imperial Modular Systems, Bob Pontine Construction, was self-employed, and Hart Floors. He was a member of Ducks Unlimited and Lost Island. Mike loved to play softball and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Bonnie Bennett; brother, Steve Stroyek; and mother-in-law, Helen Katzberg.
