Michael Swanson

Clay County resident, Michael 'Mike' Swanson, 30, of 840 Rd. 321, Harvard, Nebraska, died Thursday, April 1, 2004 of a vehicle accident.

Rosary service will be Sunday, April 4, 2004; 7:30 P.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, April 5, 2004; 10:30 A.M. at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church with Father William Holoubek officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, all in Hastings, Nebraska.

Mr. Swanson was born June 1, 1973 in Minden, Nebraska to Byron & Fernetta (Ivey) Swanson. He graduated from Campbell High School in 1991. He graduated from Southeast Community College, Milford, Nebraska with an Associate Degree of Applied Science in June of 1993. On June 24, 1995, he married Sandy Pavelka at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church in Deweese, Nebraska. He was a welding instructor at Central Community College, Hastings, Nebraska from August 1997 until the time of his death. He was owner of Swanson Welding and Fabrication both in Hastings and Harvard, Nebraska. He was a member of American Welding Society, Nebraska Blacksmith's Association and a Skills USA Advisor. He was a certified American Welding Society Inspector and American Welding Society Educator. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Harvard, Nebraska.

Mr. Swanson was preceded in death by his grandparents, Clao & Alvina Swanson and William Ivey.
